« L'Europe se fera dans les crises et elle sera la somme des solutions apportées à ces crises »—Jean Monnet
I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Access Research Centre in Amsterdam. Previously, I was a PhD researcher at the University of Trento, in northern Italy, where I graduated cum laude with a PhD thesis on the Political Economy of the Eurocrisis.. I have been visiting fellow at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin and visiting fellow at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) in Brussels, where I mainly worked on fiscal integration and the Eurocrisis. I am also the coordinator of the Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET-Young Scholars Initiative) Working Group on Europe’s Political Economy.

I admit I am rarely satisfied with one place: the map at the end of this post recalls all the cities where I’ve lived over the last seven years. When you compute it, you find out I moved my residence about eleven times in 84 months, or once each 7.6 months. My country is Europe, however, and I have no plan to stop for now…
Before joining the School of International Studies, I served as a Research Assistant both in the European Policy Centre and in Bruegel, in Brussels. My work concerns the EU economic governance, the Single European Labour Market, comparative local governance, and Euroscepticism. I also occasionally contribute to several on-line publications on a wide range of issues, including European politics, economics, and space policy. In particular, I have an interest in economics thinking related to space development, for which I have an appropriate amateur blog where I write occasionally.
I hold a BA in Political Science from the Catholic University of Milan and an MS in Economics jointly delivered by the Postgraduate School of Economics and International Studies (Italy) and the University of Lugano (Switzerland). I studied also in France (Universite’ Montpellier I- Faculte’ de Droit) and in the Netherlands (Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen- department of Economics).
I am member of the European Federalist Movement and regional secretary in Trentino Alto Adige since October 2014; from July 2015 onward I also act as a national financial officer of the Young European Federalists in Italy. Finally, I am a member (sometimes proud, sometimes less) of the Democratic Party of my country, and I strongly endorse a strengthening of the European party system trough integration in pan-European parties.
